How to export an OBJ from Autocad using a third party plugin

• It is recommended to “clean” the model first so it can be successfully imported and displayed. Our importation library will only accept solids/surfaces in the OBJ.

• Autocad does not have native OBJ support, but there several thrid party plugins available from the Autodesk App Store. Find the best app that suits your needs.

• Experiment with the settings from the app of your choosing, but it is recommended to export to the highest model quality available.

• Once exported view the OBJ model in a different viewer to verify all the features you want to display are visible.

• Upload the OBJ and it’s associated MTL (and image files if present) as a 3D model dataset in Pointerra. If the model is larger than 50MB and choose CAD model as the type.
