New Features

Initial support for projects with no point cloud data

The dependence on having a point cloud in every project has now been removed. Many places in the UI that referred to point clouds have now been updated to use the term project. To upload without point cloud data, you simply enable the "no point cloud files" switch on the upload page.

New P&W format (v3)

The next generation of the Poles and Wires analytic has been in beta test for several months and is now being set to the default for all customers. The main changes are:

• Results are automatically tiled to support viewing of very large (essentially unlimited size) 3D networks. The 3D objects are now dynamically streamed into the viewer based on the current view.
• Multi-user editing support has been improved to support a large number of concurrent edit sessions.
• Improved tracking of changes to allow for undo and recovery to previous versions.

Pointerra3D Core

• Improved speed of the point count check when performing a tiled export.
• Updated tiled export UI to make it easier to change tile size for large exports.
• Added the ability to configure which columns are shown for most list-view tables on the website.
• Added advanced search options for finding projects with certain attached datasets (by name, ID or type).
• Improved loading speed of the dataset folder tree in the folder selection popup (e.g. shown when moving datasets). The number of datasets shown next to the folders in the dataset manager now matches any applied dataset filters.
• Dataset groups in the viewer can now be expanded/collapsed in the tree view.
• Increased the maximum zoom of the photo viewer and added a label showing the zoom percentage.
• Added a button to the photo viewer that zooms the photo to full size.
• Photos viewer now asks before loading photos in the same folder.
• Added ability to copy transforms between 3d models.
• Added ability to preview videos (mp4, mov, webm) uploaded as document datasets.
• Supported additional extensions (jpeg, webp, gif) for the dataset image preview.
• Reworked DEM export limit to be based on output resolution rather than number of input points.
• Added an auto tile size option to tiled point cloud exports. This allows you to enter a maximum number of points per tile, and automatically find a corresponding tile size (approximate).
• Exporting measurements to KML now include volume measurements.
• Added ability to upload document datasets from external locations (e.g. S3, Azure).
• Changed the reordering of datasets in a project to use drag-and-drop (instead of up/down buttons).
• Zoom to a 3d model dataset now defaults to a top-down view.
• Added an option to enable reimporting pointclouds exported with the new Advanced Datum mode using Fixed Datum mode (to maintain compatibility with existing projects). Note, this is currently only exposed to customers that are beta testing the new Advanced Datum mode.

Analytics

• Refined graphical display of the new P&W v3 format. Including: 
  • Wires are now filtered by any applied pole filters
  • Option to use dashed lines for display of filtered objects (rather than excluding them)
• Added new "Pole Positions" layer to GeoJSON, KML and SHP P&W exports.
• Added network path reports to V3 P&W.
• Added "X" hotkey for assign pole attributes (same as V2 hotkey).
• Added UI text to show how many poles are included by any applied pole filters.
• Optimised finding of pole lights and companion poles.
• Fixed las overrides failing to add class numbers over 31 into las v1.3 files.

Utility Explorer

• Inspection status labels now show the actual label text instead of ids.
• Added support for rectangle image annotations.
• Added support for importing and displaying "companion" poles.
• Added support for importing and displaying pole annotations (currently displayed as notes on a pole).
• Added support for importing and displaying pole diameter values (if present in the analytics outputs).

Bug Fixes

• Fixed photo set datasets failing to create when there was a space in the folder name containing photos.
• Fixed an issue where KML fixes encoded as UTF-16 failed to import.
• Fixed exporting of KML files where the name contains special characters (e.g. &).
• Fixed photo sets appearing in the wrong location when uploaded using a geographic (lat long) coordinate system.
• Don't reset the home view when opening a bookmark (was resetting to the bookmark's view).
• Fixed issue with volume tool vertical offset slider for flat base surfaces.
