Using the Drawing tool with a fixed height or plane
The Drawing Tool is useful for highlighting specific sections of a project. However, in some cases, elevation changes or noise may interfere with its functionality. To ensure accuracy, you can establish a fixed height or drawing plane before using the tool.
Setting Up a Fixed Height or Drawing Plane
Create a New Drawing Layer
- Select the drawing tool and then Add a New layer
- You will be prompted to enter a name and select a layer type (default: Unconstrained).
Define the Plane or Height
- Fixed Height: Select a single point—this will set the height for the drawing layer.
- Drawing Plane: Select at least three points to define a plane. (Hold Shift to select additional points for better accuracy.)
Use the Drawing Tool
- Ensure you have selected the desired drawing layer before drawing.
- All points created with the drawing tool will align with the defined height or plane.
