Does Pointerra support Gaussian Splats?

While Pointerra has tested some gaussian splat models as Cesium 3D Tiles, we cannot guarantee they will work in our platform. If they do, the functionality will be limited to viewing only, while features such as model interrogation, photo inspection, placement of POIs and coordinate information is not currently supported.

Bentley iTwin Capture Modeller Flex Process

Note: Gaussian Splatting is currently in Technical Preview on the iTwin Capture Modeller Flex.

When running a production of Gaussian Splatting, the output format should be 3D tiles. Once generated, zip the 3D tiles up and then upload through the 3D Model dataset window.

Choose the Source type as 3D Tileset as per below.

External 3D Tilesets

If you have external 3D tilesets stored, for example, on ESRI, you can add them as an external dataset. Choose the type as a 3D Tile Set and copy the URL to the tileset.json file.
