Synchronising the map and 3D window views
To set the 3D viewer to view the same area as the current map view, click the Set View from Map Extents button on the Map Toolbar
This will set the 3D viewing camera so that it views approximately the same area as the current map view. Note that it is not always possible to get an exact match due to the 3D nature of the data, and the need to ensure that the camera remains above the point cloud and terrain - this may result in the view being more "zoomed out" than the map view.
To set the map to view the same area as displayed in the 3D viewer, move the cursor to the focus point (will be placed at the centre of the map), then hit the SPACE key on the keyboard (you may need to click the mouse in the 3D view to ensure that the 3D viewing window has keyboard focus). This will reset the map view to a view that best approximates the 3D view, centred about the mouse cursor location in the 3D view.
Linked Cursor
When moving the cursor over the point cloud in the 3D view, the map will interactively display the equivalent location (indicated by the yellow crosshair cursor) on the map view.
If desired, you can disable this behaviour in the Map Options panel (access via the map toolbar).
