New Features

Model Key Point generation

A new analytic has been added that takes point clouds with classified ground points and generates a new classification version that reclassifies some of the ground points as Model Key Points (usually as class 8). The MKP are the vertices of a mesh that would represent the ground surface with minimal error. The MKP outputs are also written as point classifications into updated versions of the original LAS/LAZ files that were used to build the point cloud - so that the MKP information can be downloaded for use in external applications where required.

New Classification Editing tools

  • Above/Below line classification edit tool to reclassify points within a defined buffer distance of a line (often created on a section plane).
  • Smart edit tool that automatically finds points that lie on building roofs given a seed point on the roof. The tool will automatically search for multiple connected roof segments/planes and applying the changes to all points.
  • Plane tool that fits a plane through a set of provided points (by the user clicking on points) and then reclassifies all points within a defined buffer distance of the plane.

Utility Explorer updates

  • Photo locations are now displayed as markers on the map view. Photos can be viewed by clicking on a photo marker.
  • Many enhancements to the Photo Inspection mode, including full PDF report output.
  • Added support for creating, importing, and exporting Points of Interest (POIs) on the map view.
  • New presets for the 3D point cloud view to easily define the objects of interest to display in the 3D viewer.

Improvements/Changes

  • When the classification edit paint tool has its brush size set to 0, the tool will apply changes precisely on a single picked point point.
  • Drawing layer polygons can now be used to define polygons to use with the classification edit polygon tool.
  • New/improved configs for analytics applications using Geiger mode lidar.
  • Datasets now default to not being visible when first added to a project (improves load performance for large dataset layers).
  • Vector datasets now support reading data from Geojson files.
  • Moved photo viewer out of the left hand datasets panel. Photos are now displayed in a larger resizable split screen window on the right of the viewer.
  • Additional metadata fields (e.g. date of capture) are now extracted from photo EXIF data when processed.

Bug Fixes

  • Volume measurements were always visible at load time irrespective of the project's measurement visibility setting.
  • Multi-layer point clouds would sometimes not correctly restore the visible layers for bookmarks/defaults.
  • Reprocessed jobs would always set the new point cloud units to meters regardless of the value set in the original job.
  • Setting multiple recipients in the share link email field would result in the share link creation failing.
  • Point size setting was not getting saved in bookmarks/defaults.
